Another lovely poem sent by Mrs Edna Dolphin (nee Stephenson) who was born at Cowling in 1935.

Cowling is a village,
I was born there, in that place.
It's nestled there, beneath the Crag,
With it's rugged rocky face.

Two Thousand Feet above the sea,
Right up on top there stands,
A Pinnacle, for all to see,
And to survey it's lands.

The view up there, so beautiful,
It stretches out for miles,
With Moorlands, Farms, and Meadowlands,
The Pathways, and the stiles.

The Stream, that trickles gently,
Or so swiftly in full flood.
With it's moorland peaty, colour,
As you stroll, down 'Robin Hood'.

'The Meeting of the Waters'
And the beauty of The Bottoms,
The solace of The Moors,
With the waving Moorland Cottons.

These to me are treasures,
That from me will never part,
Maybe, because, to me they're 'Home',
So dearer, to my heart.
