Danny Benjamin ran a London boutique called the Carnaby Cavern in the 1960's and 1970's, which became famous and attracted a lot of media attention.

I was never much good at the 'fame game'. I remember fartoo well how I once ruined a T.V. discussion by drying up completely when the huge camera came up close. On another occasion I didn't excel on an American coast to coast T.V.

But this day it was the French T.V. They wanted a good-looking salesman of ours 'Johnny' to pose alongside a petite blonde model they had brought along. We dressed him up in a great outfit, but his girlfriend 'Beckie' wasn't very happy about him modelling.

She, at that time one of our alteration hands, went very, very quiet when the French models outfit was announced --a pair of flared jeans -- that was fine. But the producer wanted her to wear a string vest.... these had a web of at least two inches.

Fine for men, but it would cover nothing on her. The girl would for all intents be topless!!!...

'Beckie' was an Italian beauty, really lovely, a fantasticfull figure, long strong raven black hair, and a beautiful complexion. Very respectable, her love was only for her'Johnny'.

Later I was watching the filming, when 'Saffer' called me into the shop urgently. Saffer was the tailor in charge of alterations and worked downstairs with his two sisters. It was obviously important, so we both rushed downstairs.

There was a fight going on!! Both his sisters were strugglingwith a topless near-nude 'Beckie', who for some strange reason, wanted to join the filming upstairs. She was so jealous that her 'Johnny' was modelling with a half-naked girl. She obviously wanted to prove to the world that shehad the better figure.

I will vouch for that. She had the most fantastic body Ihave sever seen!. And seeing her fighting with two prettyTurkish girls was, I admit, a turn on!

Emall and Eynell were very lovely girls, and with all the goings on in Carnaby Street, were I'm sure, decent and respectable. It's true there was a lot going on, but a lot of the folkwho worked amongst us were never involved with the easy-going free love life we read about!
