Life boat, Worthing? - posted by Peter
Was taken by my parents to the Life Boat house on Worthing Seafront in the 30's, can remember walking on a platform so that you could look down into the boat, after that the lifeboat house was the Toch H during the war for the Canadian Soldiers, What Happened to the Life Boat, any body know?

The Worthing Lifeboat was taken to Greenwich Lifeboat Museum in 1950 for a special display.
For sometime afterwards it was left on the beach at Southend, until in the 1970s vandals set fire to it and completely destroyed it.
More information is available in the book Vintage Worthing written by Rob Blann.
