Typewriting/shorthand - posted by Lucy
Does anyone have any memories of office work etc. in which they used typewriter and/or shorthand?

I am planning reminiscence sessions for people with dementia on the theme of "Work", looking at the period 1930s-50s.

I have found that some themes/items are mentioned frequently in my research, but with no in-depth descriptions. This makes it hard for me to know how to gently prompt participants memories.

So...for starters!...

I need to know more about office work, secretaries etc. - Also the differences between the roles of men and women in this field of work.

Hope someone can help! Thanks!
