I was born in Plymouth on September 2nd 1958,
at freedom fields hospital.
My Parents lived in a prefab at st budeaux kings tamerton ,
Farther worked in Plymouth dockyard as a scaffold rigger at that time,
I have two sisters Mary was born in 1955 ,and my youngest sister Norah was born in 1960 ,
at that time i remember that plymouth was still recovering after the war ,buildings were being removed due to bomb damage ,then it was safe to play in the streets,
at bryleigh crescent were we lived ,mum knew all the naigh bours, i remember one naighbour who lived next door Mrs Bennet she was a good naigbour,
Sundays you could here the church bells ringing sundays then were for familys no shops open then ,
at Easter i always remember seeing the church parade comeing down from st budeax parish church at the top ,down too the church at the bottom they wold carry the large life size cross .
In 1963 Dad got a residential Job in plymouth dockyard as a water bailif ,so for this we had to move intoo a small cottage in side the dockyard at southyard.

This was fun for us kids having the whole run of the dockyard, we shared one bedroom my sisters and my self .
