Eddy Joyce lived at his birthplace of 11 Riverside, Shotley Bridge, Co Durham from 1936 until 1971, after which he emigrated to Australia.
His home apparently was well known for its 'monkey puzzle tree.'

Educated at St. Mary's at Blackhill and St. Aidan's at Sunderland he served his time in the Merchant Navy before going on to work in the fitting shop of Consett Iron Company at Hownsgill.

Eddy met and knew countless people and made countless friends at Shotley Bridge in the 35 years he lived there. He and his wife now live in Australia.

Eddy Joyce, West Australia, 2002
