Paten researchResearch family history. The Paten family were from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire - and my research takes me back to a Robert Paten (1726-1768) who was believed to have been landlord of the Kings Head Inn, Aylesbury, though it is difficult to locate information about this. The Paten family was believed to be freeholders of the town, and had been active in Politics pre 1700's. Once again no evidence can be located. Another Robert Paten (b. 1787) - (my great grandfather x4), also grew up in Aylesbury. According to a letter to Sir Robert Peel (1845), Robert Paten explains that he was at one stage employed by the government and the Royal Family pre 1830's. Once again it is hard to locate any data regarding the Paten's in government, or a servent to the Royal family.......could anyone help with suggestions.
